DAY 1 – Arrive in Egypt for your 6-Day Cairo to Minya and Desert Tour

When you arrive at Cairo Airport for your 6-Day Cairo to Minya tour, one of our tour representatives will be waiting to meet you and to assist you with our Fast Track service that avoids having to join long queues at immigration. One of our drivers will also be waiting outside in a clean and modern air-conditioned vehicle to drive you to the 5-Star hotel where you will be staying while in Cairo.

When you get to the hotel, your tour manager will discuss your itinerary with you once you have checked in, and then you will have the rest of the day to yourself.

DAY 2 – Giza, Saqqara and Dahshur Pyramids Tour

After breakfast, your personal Expert guide and private driver will fetch you and then you be taken seen an ancient royal necropolis at Dahshur. While there is plenty to see here, the site is most famous for its Red Pyramid and its Bent Pyramid. After spending some time at this site, you will then visit another ancient burial ground at Saqqara. Here, you will be able to see great pyramid of Pharaoh Djoser. Also known as the Step Pyramid, this was the first pyramid ever built by the Ancient Egyptians.

Lunch will be had at a good local restaurant, after which you will be driven to the Giza necropolis to fabled Giza Pyramids and the Sphinx. You will also visit the Valley Temple while you are at the site, and then finally, you will be driven back to your hotel.

DAY 3 – Bahariya Oasis and White Desert Tour

This day of your Cairo to Minya Desert Tour will see you driving to the Bahariya Oasis which lies about 360km northeast of Cairo, a journey which takes roughly 4 hours.

On reaching the oasis, you will be taken for some lunch, and then the rest of the afternoon will be spent sightseeing. Begin your sightseeing with a visit to the Black Desert, and which you will visit a natural hot spring in Valley of El Haiz in the St. George oasis, before moving on to see the abundance of quartz crystal at Crystal Mountain.

Next, you will be taken to see the striking rock formations in the Valley of Agabat before continuing on to the White Desert National Park. The White Desert is Egypt’s most famous and most prized desert attraction, and the reason for this will be apparent from the minute you arrive.

Everywhere you look, you will see incredibly wind-cut rock formations rising out of the sand like mushrooms and other unearthly forms.

This night of your Cairo to Minya Desert Tour will be spent at a camp site at the White Desert. In the unlikely event that this is not possible due to bad weather, you will then spend the night at the Farafra Oasis hotel.

DAY 4 – Bahariya Tour and Return to Cairo

Enjoy your breakfast at the camp site, and then you will be taken the Golden Mummy showroom and the Nobles Tombs in the Western Desert, and then you will visit the Tomb of Bannantiu at the Bahariya Oasis. Your morning’s tour will end with a climb up Black Mountain, after which you will be taken for lunch at the oasis before heading back to your hotel in Cairo.

DAY 5 – Day Tour to Al Minya

This day of your Cairo to Minya trip is all about visiting some fascinating ancient monuments that many visitors never get to see because they are off the beaten track. Today you will be leaving your hotel at 06h00 and then you will be driven to Al Minya, a journey that takes about four hours.

On arrival, you will be taken to board a motorboat which will then take you to Tell El Amarna which was once the capital of Akhenaton.

Next, you will visit Beni Hassan which is home to many ancient tombs dating back to both the Old and the Middle Kingdoms. After exploring some of these tombs, you will then begin your journey back to Cairo for the last night of your 6-Day Cairo to Minya Tour.

DAY 6 – Cairo to Minya Tour Ends

Sadly, your Cairo to Minya Tour has now come to an end, so at the appropriate time, your tour manager and one of our drivers will fetch you and then transfer you to the airport in time for you to catch your flight back home.
